General Council of Industrial Technical Engineering of Spain (COGIT)

COGITI, is a Corporation of public law, constituted with scope and presence throughout the territory of the Spanish State, which represents the profession of Industrial Technical Engineer in its national and international scope, and brings together the 49 Official Colleges of Graduates in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Electronic, Textile, Industrial Design…) and Industrial Technical Engineers of Spain. It is endowed with its own legal personality and full capacity for the fulfilment of its purposes in accordance with the Law of Professional Associations 2/1974 and the R.D. 104/2003 that approves its Statutes, and constituted by Decree of June 22, 1.956 (BOE of July 22) that authorizes the constitution of the Colleges of Industrial Experts. COGITI has among its functions, that of organizing common activities and services of interest to the students, of a professional, scientific, technical, practical, formative, assistance and foresight nature, providing financial support through the necessary means; organizing courses for the training, retraining and improvement of the students and post-graduates and participating with the corresponding Bodies in the matters of their professional competence, in whatever actions are useful for the benefit of the Industry as well as collaborating with the Public Administrations in the exercise of their competences in the terms provided in the Law.
