Illustrious Official College of Geologists

It is a non-profit institution created for the defense and support of the interests of Geologists, created by Law 73/1978 of December 26, is a corporation of Public Law, protected by Law and recognized by the State, with its own legal personality and full capacity for the exercise of its functions and fulfillment of its purposes. It enjoys, to all intents and purposes, the rank of preeminence attributed to this type of entities by the Professional Associations Act, making it the only corporation legitimized to elevate to the Public Authorities the problems and aspirations of the profession, assuming in this sense the representation of the professional collective. The Statutes of the ICOG were approved by Royal Decree 1378/2001, of December 7, 2001.
